How Composting Toilets Work

Human waste and kitchen scraps are deposited into the compost chamber via 12" diameter stainless steel connecting chute. A starter material is used to initialize the compost process. The breakdown of the waste pile is enhanced with the "Excel-Aerator™"forced ventilation system. Oxygen is drawn down the toilet/kitchen chute(s), through the entire waste pile and out the vent stack. Wastes are converted, naturally into a usable humus. This is the same process that occurs every day in nature.

Waterless, composting toilets can work ANYWHERE A RESTROOM IS NEEDED.SAVE WATER by not flushing it down the local river. There are NO ODORS with the forced ventilation system that accelerates the waste decomposition. A small amount(approx. 2-five gallon pails) of finished compost will be available for removal after about 10-15 years of service. The compost chamber is never emptied completely. After the initial 10-15 years there may be finished compost to remove every 2-5 years.
